Like Argentinian’s everywhere Alexandro Bernabei enjoyed a celebration last night.

The defender from Correa, capped at u-19 level joined his countrymen and woman as they shared the outcome of a penalty shoot-out in Qatar that provided Lionel Messi with the one trophy that had eluded his incredible career.

Bernabeo became Celtic’s first ever Argentinian signing when he joined the club in the summer for a fee of around £3m from Lanus.

Glasgow Warriors rugby club does have a couple of Argentinian players with Emiliano Boffelli, Domingo Miotti, Lucio Sordoni and Enrique Pieretto helping Bernabei turn a corner of Glasgow into a mini Buenos Aires on Sunday night.

With the competition in Qatar completed Celtic are waiting on the return of Josip Juranovic early next week to complete their squad going into the new year fixtures.

Greg Taylor has established himself as a significant player in Ange Postecoglou’s side but in Bernabei a very able deputy has been established who seems perfectly fitted for the left-back slot in Ange-ball.
