Celtic are reported to be showing interest in Ardon Jashari.

The Lucerne midfielder was part of the Switzerland squad at the World Cup Finals in Qatar with his club looking to cash in.

On Friday Celtic announced the signing of Tomoki Iwata which adds further pressure in the battle for midfield places but Ange Postecoglou appears happy to add quality to his squad if the right deal crops up at the right time.

Sky Sports Germany reports:

Ardon Jashari will leave the Swiss Super League and, according to Sky information, is dealing with various offers. The hottest contenders from the Bundesliga are currently RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Leeds United, SSC Napoli and Celtic Glasgow are also vying for the central midfielder’s services.  The contract of the 20-year-old Swiss World Cup participant with Lucerne runs until 2026 – the club’s transfer fee will settle between six and seven million euros.

That level of fee shouldn’t be beyond Celtic but it will take some strong negotiations to convince a 20-year-old to move to Scotland when there are offers on the table from three of the major leagues.

With three deals completed before the January transfer window opens Postecoglou has demonstrated that he likes to be on the front foot with transfer dealing.

There appears no pressure on Celtic to bring in a midfielder but the strong prospect of Champions League football could be a strong negotiating tool if they get into talks to sign Jashari.
