Yuki Kobayashi is on route to Glasgow- with his flight taking place while Japan are playing Spain at the World Cup Finals.

The signing of the defender was announced two weeks ago although the registration can’t be rubber stamped until January 1 when the transfer window opens.

Kobayashi becomes the second player to move from Vissel Kobe to Celtic, following Kyogo Furuhashi, and is the fifth signing from the J-League by Ange Postecoglou.

The Japan national team’s match against Spain was disappointing, saying, “I want to see it, but maybe I won’t be able to see it (during the flight)…”. I also heard about Shuya Izumi, a youth player who passed each other, so I will write about it later.

Spread your wings from Kobe to the world! !

Kobayashi will be able to travel and train with Celtic in Portugal next week, whether he can play against Stade Rennais on December 10 isn’t known.

Alistair Johnstone looks like being on his way from Montreal to Celtic with Postecoglou always looking to get business done early whenever the transfer window is open.

Kobayashi is described as a left sided central defender, a position that a couple of players have filled this season with Cameron Carter-Vickers the first choice on the right of the defensive partnership.
