Greeting while he typed that? BBC Scotland can’t cover their hurt over Celtic’s Pittodrie winner

Even Stephen McGowan called out his media buddies at BBC Scotland over their coverage of Celtic’s win at Aberdeen on Saturday.

The state broadcaster sees the world through bright red, white and blue glasses with Kenny Mac shaping the debate backed up by Uncle Tom, Alasdair, Thommo, Jane and a cast of dozens ready to put a gloss on any issue, every issue. On pundit duty they can call on Kenny Miller, Neil McCann, Richard Forster and others that share the same thought process.

Watching the action from Pittodrie live on Sky Sports should have been a fairly straight forward task but as excitement grew over the prospect of Celtic dropping points it seems that standards also dipped.

A late winning goal by Callum McGregor, back after two months out through injury provided a nice easy storyline for all but deep inside BBC Scotland someone automatically associates that surname with Allan, the Ibrox veteran, the guy that lost loads of goals during the Champions League.

McGowan is out at the World Cup Finals in Qatar for the Daily Mail, fairly regularly he’ll get a call from BBC Scotland for his insight into one of the burning issues.

With their vast resources and overkill staffing levels it shouldn’t be asking too much of BBC Scotland to employ folk that can tell the difference between a serial winner and an angry 40-something that has won just two trophies in the last decade.

To my eternal shame, as a clueless teenager I used to buy The Daily Record – for the fottball coverage!
But, I eventually wised up and stopped buying.

    Likewise the BBC.
Not just the Scottish football coverage was sh!te.
So, I stopped funding the BBC many years ago – along with millions [?] of others.

The BBC will – eventually – go the same way as The DR is heading.
Or, the BBC will simply re-brand?

MC Gowan was out in Qatar covering the World Cup for the Scottish Daily Mail . He must have been doing his sterling work for the Tory rag ,that it brought him home just in time to miss the final ! Still ,the BBC had him on excellent analysing duties from yesterday’s games ….. It just goes to show that Scottish football is bigger and more important than the greatest football tournament on the planet …

Didn’t look like “running out of ideas” to me. More like 1 on the goal-line and 10 on the 18 yard line from Aberdeen. Relentless ideas and pressure told. Apart from a sublime display from McGregor, he also marshalled the side after scoring when the Dons had their one and only proper attack.

Amy Irons changed the colours on the Italian flag from red white and green to red white and blue, after they won last season’s euros. She said “Fans dancing around waving the red white and eh blue Italian flags”.Waving flags with green in them verboten on BBC Scotland. Its gotten really weird, and off the scale, pro sevco of late.
