Nicolas Raskin looks like slipping through Ross Wilson’s transfer net.

The midfielder was apparently close to a move to Ibrox in the summer with the usual contrived excuses trotted out to explain why the transfer wasn’t completed.

A few times a year Ibrox social media sources get excited about a European starlet only for the chase to go cold when the serious negotiations get underway.

After qualifying for the Champions League group stage Giovanni van Bronckhorst discovered that no fresh funds were available to bring in new players with the Ibrox club crashing straight into the record books as the worst team to ever reach the group stage.

Raskin, a Belgian u-21 internationalist, is out of contract in the May, much like half of Micky Beale’s squad, and has fallen foul of Ronny Deila who has ditched him down to train with the B team at Standard Liege.

That has given the gullible hope that he could be Ibrox-bound in January but in the real world it seems that Raskin is hoping to win a move to England.
