Ewan Otoo is the latest young Celt attracting interest from English clubs.

The 20-year-old can play at left-back, central defence or in a defensive midfield role but like most of the players in the Lowland League squad it is almost impossible to see a pathway towards first team football from the fifth tier of the SPFL.

Otoo enjoyed a crash course of 15 appearances for Clyde over seven weeks during the Lockdown season but has had to contend with turning out in the Lowland League since then after recovering from injury early last season.

The Mail reports:

Aston Villa, Fulham and Burnley are keeping tabs on Celtic B team captain Ewan Otoo ahead of a possible January move.

The 20-year-old central defender has impressed in the Lowland League this season and is being watched by a host of English Premier League and Championship clubs.

Otoo, who is eligible to represent either Scotland or Ghana at international level, is out of contract at Celtic next summer.

During Celtic’s Premier League International Cup tie at Fulham in October Otoo was sent off but he seems to have caught the eye of the London club.

These fixtures seem to have provided a shop window for English sides to assess players in the Celtic squad with a move down south likely to open up the prospect of going out on loan to play at a good competitive level.

In August Burnley announced the signing of Frankie Deane from Celtic.
