Celtic could have a third January transfer deal tied up before the weekend.

Yuki Kobayashi and Alistair Johnstone have already been signed up with both players in training at Lennoxtown ahead of their deals being rubber stamped on January 1.

Ange Postecoglou has revolutionised Celtic’s approach to transfer windows with targets identified early, negotiations underway with the intention being to have players in for January 1 rather than the 31st.

Discussing possible transfers the Daily Record reports Postecoglou saying:

We’re getting pretty close now. I know Michael and Chris want to spend some time with their families at Christmas. We’re working on things. There are still a couple that we are kind of investigating at the moment. We will see how things transpire over the next week or so. We’re not even into January yet so there is still a bit of time.

With two defenders already added the smart money would be on another striker being the third signing of the January transfer window.

Despite having numerous chances in each match Celtic only managed to score four times in the Champions League with that area in need of attention.

On December 31 last year Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi were all announced as signings and involved in the first matches of 2022.

Lawwel will be sitting at home fuming. Bet he can’t wait for the 1st of January to put a stop to this signing players early nonsense, and to get back to business at usual where he signs his own duds.

  • Mark Coulter says:

Ange wouldn’t allow that . If lawwell did that Ange would walk away mate

  • Thomas M Daley says:

If Ange walked Celtic share price would tank and Desmond would not like that??

Ange is getting exposure overseas with Japanese, Korean and our colonial cousins over the pond not to mention the Botany Bay ex cons?

Exposure brings in money, if Ange does get wins in the group stages, get out of the groups, big money again.

Celtic made money being in Oz, if instead of winter break in Dubai expect Oz to be a regular or southern states of the US.

Ange would love a legacy, spoken about the same way as Jock, Shankly and Fergie.

Celtic needs Ange, not the other way around and Desmond with his sense of business/money knows that.

    Could Ange turn around sevco??

Editor: Directors tend to outlast managers, Tom Allison has been hanging around since 2002, I don’t think he has ever spoke at an AGM, Bankier went out of his way to prevent him speaking this year on the process of appointing a Chairman.

The only strategy evident from Celtic is to be in contention for honours with their O** F*** business partners, progress in Europe is for others, no knock out wins since 2004, Van Bronckhorst managed four during a 12 month stop over, thankfully he missed out on a fifth.
