Celtic’s B team crashed to a 3-1 defeat to Berwick Rangers in last night’s Lowland League match at Airdrie.

It was a very disappointing result for the young Celts who remain in third place while the win lifts Berwick up to 11th in the 19 team league.

The heavy fixture list seems to be taking its toll in terms of injuries on the hoops squad but against part-timers travelling on a December midweek more is expected of the young Celtic side.

Tsoanelo Letsosa put Celtic in front after nine minutes but the highly experienced Liam Buchanan equalised midway through the first half with Lewis Barr putting the visitors ahead early in the second half.

In the 73rd minute Graham Taylor scored again for the visitors with Celtic unable to find any response.

On Saturday Celtic’s B team travel to Cowdenbeath.

CELTIC: Oluwayemi; Dede (McPherson 58), Anderson, Robertson, Otoo, Ure, Davidson, Letsosa, Dawson, Thomson, Quinn (Turley 75)

SUBS: Clarke, Osagie, Mackenzie, Murphy.
