Even after 10 transfer windows informing their army of readers about clubs bidding for Alfredo Morelos the Daily Record remains dedicated to the cause.
Print circulation of the Glasgow based newspaper has crashed to just 63.057 per day as even their target audience realise that credibility left the building some time ago.
Back in January 2018 the Record raised the prospect of a mystery Chinese club offering £9m to snap up the chunky Colombian.
Internet bampots quickly highlighted the restrictions on foreign imports and the 100% tax levy on transfer fees but the Record was undeterred as they continued banging the drum.
Fortunately for the player he has picked up two improved contracts on the back of transfer speculation but all good things come to an end with his current bumper deal ending in May.
Morelos can sign a pre-contract deal to move elsewhere anytime he likes but today the Record has been suggesting a January offer could be on the way from Inter Milan.
Even with maximum top spin applied it is a stretch to imagine Alfie rocking up at the Inter training complex and sharing some locker room banter with Romelu Lukaku.
