Even after just a month at Ibrox most football fans are sick to death of Micky Beale’s media conferences, but not Tom English.

The former QPR boss just can’t get out of Office Manager mode as he shares his views on every subject under the sun with very little prompting from an obedient media pack, offered one question on a rota although some daredevils manage a follow up.

According to Beale the gap between the two Glasgow clubs is just three points not the nine showing up in the SPFL table. Only matches between the two clubs count according to the eloquent and interesting Ibrox boss.

Players with six months left on their contracts are better to work with than those with six years remaining.

Oh and he coached in Brazil where he learned how to speak Portuguese, but don’t ask him about his record of three wins in 13 games during a six month stint as assistant manager at Sao Paulo.

Previewing today’s Glasgow Derby for the BBC website, English opens up with:

It remains to be seen if Michael Beale is a champion manager, but there’s no question that the Rangers boss is a champion talker. Eloquent and interesting. Even Beale, though, must have had enough of the chat by now. The time for yapping is over. He’ll know that if his team lose to Celtic on Monday then the league is as good as over, too.

I suppose of your working day is being surrounded by Kenny Macintyre, Jane Lewis, Alistair Lamont and Steven Thompson listening to Beale might be something of a welcome distraction.

Eloquent and interesting aren’t phrases that you’ll hear QPR supporters associating with their former manager. B/S might be as polite as it gets to describing the man that preached about loyalty before taking a trip to Ibrox to undermine Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Having missed out on trips to World Cup Finals, Olympic Games and even Lions Tours it is perhaps understandable that the chief Sports Writer at BBC Scotland finds Beale interesting.

English, affectionately known as House Paddy at Pacific Quay will soon be sharing his expert opinions on the egg-chasing with the Six Nations one of the few events that he gets to cover live.
