Fabrizio Romano has tweeted about the race for Cho Gue-Sung.
Celtic have been linked with the striker since he impressed for South Korea during the World Cup group stages but now seem to be in a straight contest with Minnesota United .
According to Romano, the ultimate Transfer source on Twitter, both clubs have submitted proposals that appear acceptable to Jeonbuk Hyundai.
Now it seems like the decision is down to the player over whether he leaves South Korea for the MLS or SPFL.
South Korea’s Cho Gue-Sung has now three proposals: Celtic have made €3m bid with 50% on future sale up to €6m, while Minnesota offer €5m plus 30% on future sale. ??? #transfers
Mainz have also made a proposal close to €3m. Discussions are taking place to decide next club. pic.twitter.com/jPN9KIXRWR

With Virgil Van Dijk the shining example Celtic ave a reasonable template for Cho to reach his ultimate ambition of playing for a top European club, even if he doesn’t reach that level Kieran Tierney, Stuart Armstrong, Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard have all used Celtic as a route to the riches of the EPL.
After almost two months of speculation it seems that a decision is close over whether or not Cho will become a Celtic player.
