Despite the overnight reports from Korea it seems that a January move for Cho Gue-sung isn’t yet dead in the water.
Since the World Cup Finals in November Celtic have been linked with the striker, last week there were reports that negotiations were on going in London with Ji Sung Park representing Jeonbuk Hyundai.
Despite reports of acceptable offers from Celtic and Minnesota United and interest from Mainz 05 over the last couple of days it has seemed likely that Cho would be staying in Korea until the summer.
Mark Hendry was first to break news of Celtic’s interest in Alexandro Bernabei, presumably getting information from a similar source he believes that there is still life in the Cho deal.
Celtic target Hamulic currently flying to France to join Toulouse as clubs agree fee.
As for Cho, my understanding is Jeonbuk have striker replacement lined up with thinking being he may still leave. Decision likely to be made from their viewpoint early next week.@Football_Scot— Mark Hendry (@mhendry92) January 14, 2023
Running in tandem with Celtic’s interest in Cho is the possible transfer of Giorgos Giakoumakis with clubs in Germany, Italy and Japan reported to be keen on the Greek striker.

Editor: Yes, 100%, he didn’t get the Bernabei story from his contacts in Argentina. He got it from much closer to home.
