Micky Beale has given up on his attempt to bring Morgan Whittaker to Ibrox.

The Swansea forward is under contract until May 2024 which rules out any low-balling bids with the Championship side having the summer window to sell the player.

Whittaker was on loan at Plymouth Argyle in the first half of the season but despite a very public attempt to unsettle their player Swansea have stood firm on their £2m valuation.

Asked about progress on that deal Beale told The Sun (7 minutes):

He will be staying at Swansea, I believe. He went on to confirm that the Gers had indeed seen an offer turned down for Whittaker – but stressed that they haven’t gone back in since.

I think it was just the one bid that went in for him. That got rejected. And since then, there’s been a lot of hot air. I think he’s a boy they like, they had their plan for him.

He’s gone back to Swansea and I think they’re thinking he’s a real valuable asset.”

It was widely reported that a second bid for Whittaker was rejected on Friday with transfer guru Ross Wilson focussing his attention on Nicolas Raskin of Standard Liege who is out of contract in May.

Canny believe that these players are turning down the chance to be managed by the greatest manager to have ever been involved in the game…..

They don’t have anyone at Ibrox that they can punt for decent dough ,as to upgrade their offers for Raskin and Whittaker ! How times quickly change . Looks like for every £5 Celtic spend on new transfers ,the tribute act will struggle to spend 50 pence . The Murray years ! You’ve got to love them …

I finked he did not look into their eyes, how can they turn down the best manager on the planet, answer no money .

  • BriBhoy says:

This guy may well be a genius at putting the bibs and cones out in training, but he is a rank amateur at this side of the management game and needs to learn fast. Saying “evewyfing you fink”, at every opportunity, in front of the assembled media (well, the illiterate, desperate compromised, cowardly and unashamedly biased hacks that constitute the media in Scotland) is just asking for trouble. His hopelessly naïve pish and desperate playing to the gallery are clearly coming back to bite him on the arse. You never see Ange commenting on other clubs’ players in the way Beale does. Compare and contrast Ange’s consistent “when something happens, I will tell you mate” approach to transfer speculation with Beale’s blatant tapping attempts.
