Celtic are reported to have put together an offer for Oh Hyeon-Gyu that his club Suwon Bluewings will find impossible to resist.

The striker has been mentioned in the background to interest in Cho Gue-sung who appears to have decided to have postponed a move to Europe until the summer.

Over the last week or so Ange Postecoglou has confidently commented on bringing in one more signing during the January window with Oh now looking like that final target.

Suwon Bluewings had been reported to be determined to go into the K-League season with Oh on board but the offer of a transfer to Europe is hard for a 21-year-old to resist.

Should the deal be completed it will increase speculation that Giorgos Giakoumakis is on his way out of Celtic with clubs in Spain, Italy, Japan and the MLS linked with the striker.

Postecoglou will host a media conference at lunchtime today where he will be asked about transfer speculation.

Korean site News KBS reports:

Suwon’s ace Oh Hyeon-gyu, the ’27th’ player of the World Cup in Qatar, is rumored to be transferring to the prestigious Celtic in Scotland.

Initially, the Suwon club declared a ‘transfer impossible’ for Team Ace, but the airflow has recently changed due to Celtic’s continued recruitment offer.

While Celtic is known to have offered more than 10 times the annual salary Oh Hyun-kyu is currently receiving, the Suwon club is struggling with the future of the player.

It is known that Oh Hyun-gyu’s heart was inclined toward Celtic.

Mr Nisbett would be a better option. Boyle would’ve been bettervuntilmhecgot injured.

    • PS says:

Absolute nonsense, Nisbett will never be a player who can lead the line in Europe.

Paying upwards of 4 mil for a lazy inconsistent striker , sorry totally disagree with you , he wouldn’t be a better option

  • John mcghee says:

Yesi agree with yoù stevie Nisbett is a good at putting the ball in the net but he’s also lazy at times were as this guy celtic are after is great at taking players on his shooting is shocking especially in the video but hopefully Ange will sort that out eh..

Well I must say that was a refreshing player video highlight compilation. I’ve seen so many players that look sensational in these
Videos that turn out to be less so .

If this is this boys highlights then it gives me the fear .

His finishing and decision making are atrocious in that video ,he makes morels look like Lewandowski .

He looks strong on the ball and looks to have plenty of energy . Ange has proven that he can make players better ,if he improves this guys deficiencies they should erect a statue of him at CP

  • Tony B says:

Isn’t a “striker” supposed to score goals first and foremost?

I don’t see much evidence of that.
