Police Scotland have launched a probe into a metal object being thrown at Greg Taylor during Monday’s Glasgow derby.

With over 90% of the fans at the match Season Ticket holders it shouldn’t be too difficult to identify who threw the missile provided the Closed Circuit TV was working at the time.

Taylor suffered an injury in the 20th minute following a clash with Fashion Sakala and was treated in front of the Broomloan Road Stand, on the opposite side of the goal from the Union Bears Ultras group.

The Sun reports:

POLICE have launched a probe after Celtic star Greg Taylor and one of the Hoops’ physios were targeted by a ‘metal object’ thrown from the home end while he was receiving treatment.

The incident, which was reported by the Hoops staff to the match officials, was one of a number of incidents involving missile throwing during yesterday’s Old Firm clash which cops are looking into.

A source close to the Hoops has confirmed to the Scottish Sun that the object in question was a bottle opener.

Taylor attempted to play on but had to be replaced by Josip Juranovic, without the former Kilmarnock defender a lot of balance was lost from the Celtic side.

Sky Sports reported that Taylor had suffered a hamstring injury but there was no comment after the match from Ange Postecoglou about the extent of the injury.

The next time someone is on the moan-in be that radio snyde or any other station they should ask the pundits or presenters to name an incident that sevco have had go against since VAR was introduced,as far as I can see or know I can’t name one incident.

Celtic should take this. All the way and no backdown

More smoke and mirrors garbage from the powers that be in good old bigotted Scotland!
The police will get as deep into this as they did to protect Neil Lennon at Tynecastle, or the broken bottles which landed in Joe Hart’s six yar box last time we humbled the scum at their pigery.

  • John S says:

Has something ‘incendiary’ been smothered ? If Taylor was struck by anything from the crowd there are precedents involving loss of points or stadium sanction until safety of everyone is guaranteed.

    Camera not working move on.

VAR is Sevco’s 13th man. Even in games they are not playing in.
