Celtic were on the wrong end of a VAR call at Tannadice as they tried to break down the blanket defending of Dundee United.
Five minutes from the break a cross was pitched into the centre of the penalty box towards Kyogo Furuhashi.
United keeper Mark Birighitti came out to punch the ball clear- wiping out the Celtic forward with both players falling to the ground.
Referee Don Robertson hesitated for a moment, pointed to the spot with Birighitti getting treatment in the goal mouth.
Kyogo sandwiched between two players, taken out the game, but not a penalty ?

After checking for a possible offside VAR official Euan Anderson told Robertson to check the incident on the pitchside monitor.
A few moments later the referee was restarting the match with the game goal-less. At half-time with the match goal-less Celtic had 81% possession.
I don’t think it is a penalty but VAR just being used as an excuse to break the game up.
Punched the ball before colliding with the attacker. No penalty. No blame on the ref for misjudging a close call. Perfect application of VAR.
Why no second yellow for the player who handled the ball.
Bernabie and O’Riley both were booked for their offences.
I agree with above comments, but still a penalty, defender raises elbow to push Kyogo into keeper, keeper didn’t do anything wrong, may have been offside though, not enough replays though to confirm
