Presumptuousness and complacency- Jackson’s latest attack on Celtic

Keith Jackson has switched his anger from Ange Postecoglou to the Celtic support in today’s Daily Record.

Back on January 9 the Celtic boss was accused of self pitying and spiteful irrationalism for questioning the run of VAR decisions that had gone against his club.

Postecoglou had previously claimed that he was ambivalent about the introduction of the technology but after a serious of questionable handball decisions the hoops boss had his say- upsetting Jackson in the process.

Today it is the lack of respect or acknowledgement that Celtic fans have given to Micky Beale that has got under the skin of the veteran Record reporter.

A below par Celtic side drew at Ibrox in the middle of a winning run stretching back to September that has maintained a nine point lead and stretched their goal difference advantage to 26 after 26 matches.

Reflecting on the build up to Sunday’s Viaplay Cup Final Jackson informs Daily Record readers:

Wishful thinking, you see, can be a dangerous thing. And right now, fans of both of these incompatible neighbours are guilty of indulging in it at the same time. From Celtic’s perspective, there appears to be an unwillingness to acknowledge the improvements that Beale has been busy carrying out on the other side of the fence.

With a shrug of the shoulders and a puff of the cheeks the general consensus is, ‘So what? He’s still miles behind from Big Ange.’ Which may or may not be the case. But, if they’re wrong, then it will smack of presumptuousness and complacency.

Celtic fans are concentrating on their own side, the fantastic form of Reo Hatate, the bounce that Daizen Maeda and Aaron Mooy have taken from the World Cup Finals and the way that Alastair Johnston has slotted in at right-back with barely a blip.

The media can acknowledge the brilliance of coaches and players elsewhere, supporters tend to support with Celtic fans highly impressed by the direction that their team is moving in.

In December 2020 Jackson reported on a Celtic source being unhappy over a ‘bunch of fans with an enormous sense of entitlement.’

Just because this clown jackass says something, doesn’t make it true. How would that hun know what celtic fans think

  • Stevie says:

Was there any respect from the the other mob when Lenny was in charge????
What I can remember it was the total abuse show and the Jackson mob were in it to.

  • Bennybhoy57 says:

Biles improvements, does he mean VAR assistance..they struggle most weeks until they get their penalty and the other team go down to ten men.

  • John says:

Jackson is worried as Wee Mikey appears very fragile. Andrew Smith in the Scotsman was at it as well claiming that Rangers expect to get beat therefore the pressure is all on Celtic. Apparently it is of more importance to us than them.

Despite us being 95% sure of winning the League. The logic escapes me. If we beat them get ready for a complete meltdown from Wee Mikey and the international to drop points all over the place.

But beware the helping hand penalty and assistance with a sending off. Ange needs to prepare for playing with 10 and needing to score three to win.

Keith has received his email with instructions to try and wind up Celtic from The Rangers
board and article the has been approved.

Editor: He also has one very good friend in the Celtic boardroom.

    • KC67 says:

Only one team has more points, more goals, more fans and more money. Its not the tramps over the fence.

  • Bob (original) says:

See Jackson has switched off the “Comments” on his article.

He must have woken up this morning and thought: this week I can generate an imaginary ‘feud’ between Beale and Ange.

The language he uses in his article are ridiculous, attempting to be inflammatory.

But, to be fair, Jackson is good for a laugh – as always. 🙂

Going to be a loooong week in the SMSM.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Won’t be a long week for me as I don’t read it at all – will be as you say a loooong week in the SMSM for their crayon boys with worry….

All I can say is – THANK GOD FOR THE CELTIC BLOG !!!!!

  • Baboo says:

You have to hand it to Keith Jackson and Hugh Keevins. They do consistently type utter nonsense every single week!

  • UlyssesGunt says:

It’s up to Celtic Blogs , and Celtic fan blogs members not post links to their trash .
I appreciate you ( Joe ) reading it and informing of such garbage … but other sites ( and blog members ) who post links are in a way complicit . ( as you say , “ someone in our own boardroom … leaking team sheets also .? )
Mostly anyone of a Green persuasion needs their heads examined if the still actually pay for printed copy .

Editor: Sadly there are many Celtic ‘fan sites’ that will copy and paste anything from the MSM without comment or perspective, thankfully fans can spot these sites and they quickly drop in popularity as they parrot the fast fading old media.

  • harold shand says:

  • John Copeland says:

  • P mc hugh says:

  • Dominic Hannah says:

  • Jim The Tim says:

Fk banners, ignore these fkrs and stop informing us of the Huns Bullshit.
Feed me with their financial facts, makes me feel good.
If I wanted hun shit I could download it myself.
Never bought a uk newspaper since 1998, and have not missed a thing.
I represents UK establishment, royalty shit and Huns.

    • Marie says:

I’m the same. They are never going to print anything positive about Celtic so why buy their papers. All that does is pay their wages, the circulation is all they care about. No buyers, no papers. Let the manky mob eat that shit up. We are doing what needs to be done week in week out. That’s enough for me.

  • Jim The Tim says:

    I=it

  • George Matthew Hall says:

Keith Jackson should retire – he’s past his best – no wonder the Record sales are sliding down the pan

  • Gordon Herriot says:

Keith Jackson is a sad blue nose that cannot accept that his beloved New Gers are yet again playing second fiddle to a Celtic side that continues to improve and leave New Gers standing still! Their results have improved but apart from their demolition of The Jambos recently the New Gers performance levels haven’t and that is why they will never catch this Celtic side!
