They died because they lied- RTC gives the Administration Day verdict

Rangers Tax Case has made a timely and highly appropriate comment on the death of Rangers.

For around a year the highly informed RTC website gave a running commentary on the issues at Ibrox as Internet Bampots feasted on the news and information that old media preferred not to cover.

The complex issues that were building up to the death of a football club were revealed and discussed while others ran around denouncing a work of fiction created to amuse obsessive Celtic fans.

I agree. Rangers died for nothing.
If they had told the truth when asked about side-letters for players in January 2004, the EBT tax issue could have been resolved for a pittance.

The joy of Administration Day is hard to properly put down in detail, a former billionaire that had been championed and feted by the Scottish media was left holding the baby when the day of reckoning arrived.

Whyte inherited the club for £1 but was lumbered by manager in waiting Ally McCoist. When he led the club to defeats from Malmo and Maribor the signs were ominous.

On the pitch the team actually responded well, on November 5 they held a 15 point lead over Celtic but after losing 1-0 to a Joe Ledley goal at Christmas the game was a bogey.

The lies from the club and media took their toll, 11 years later it seems that no lessons have been learned with moonbeams still preferred to reality with the Tribute Act on the UEFA watch list and needing a £1m share injection to cover January payroll.
