Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Greg Taylor was struggling for most of his appearance against Hibs.

Steve Clarke put a spotlight on the defender when he was left out of the Scotland squad for the matches against Cyprus and Sweden.

Taylor was out injured for three weeks in January but other than the recent midweek SPFL win over Hearts he has been in his usual berth at left-back.

The former Kilmarnock man was out very early yesterday for the start of the second half but after an hour of the match he was replaced by Alexandro Bernabei.

Greg was pretty much struggling for most of the game. Again, it’ll do him good to have a couple of weeks to recover,

Celtic’s next match is away to Ross County on April 2, with no midweek matches during that month although the fixture list does contain two Glasgow derbies.

A mixture of rest and rehab should hopefully have the desired effect with Taylor fit and well for the trip to Dingwall and the run in to a season that could deliver a fifth treble in seven seasons.

The manager must be confident in an even less-than-fully-fit Greg Taylor. Celtic will need him for the run-in. If he needs a rest…
