Micky Beale’s troubles continued today as he watched his Murray Park starlets crash to a 3-1 defeat to Celtic in the Glasgow Cup on home soil.
In central defence Leon King was joined by John Souttar with £5m Turkish ace Ridvan Yilmaz playing at left-back and rising star Adam ‘Sidney’ Devine in the James Tavernier role.
None of the Celtic B side have played a minute of SPFL football this season with just Bosun Lawal managing 10 minutes in the 5-0 Scottish Cup win over Morton.
At half-time the match was goal-less but three minutes into the second period Joey Dawson opened the scoring for the visitors.
MacKenzie Carse put Celtic 2-0 up in the 50th minute with Dawson netting a third in the 62nd minute with Ross McCausland netting a consolation with 15 minutes left to play.
If Beale thinks that his first team squad is toiling then it appears that the fabled conveyor belt at Murray Park has ground to a halt.
