Ben Siegrist has resumed full training after more than two months out of action with a calf injury.

The goalkeeper joined Celtic from Dundee United last summer and made two appearances in the League Cup while being back-up to Joe Hart.

Siegrist was on the bench away to Hibs on December 28 but at Ibrox on January 2 Scott Bain was the substitute keeper, a role that he held through until Sunday’s win at St Mirren, adding a League Cup winners medal to his collection.

Hart’s place as Celtic’s first choice is secure but with just over a year left on his Celtic contract some informal talks are likely to be taking place just now.

Siegrist and Bain provide decent cover but neither has demonstrated that they could be first choice goalkeeper on a long term basis.

Tobi Oluwayemi is out on loan at Cork City but would need at least one more loan before any judgement could be made if he is a potential first choice.
