Ange Postecoglou has a simple warning for anyone disputing the identity of Celtic’s second goalscorer against St Mirren.
Aaron Mooy delivered a deep free kick towards the back post, Alistair Johnston was all over it but the ball certainly appeared to go into the net off the back of Mark O’Hara.
Only a goal has been lacking from Johnston’s CV since his Celtic debut at Ibrox on January 2, speaking to The Sun his manager had a word of caution for anyone contesting who to credit with the goal:
Good luck with that. Ali’s been really good for us and I thought he was solid defensively, as he has been, but he was a real threat.
He’s got himself into some good areas in recent games and it just hasn’t fallen for him. But he’s a pretty determined guy and his contribution today was important.
Over the course of a couple of months Johnston has switched apparently effortlessly from the MLS to the SPFL following a three match trip to the World Cup Finals in Qatar.
A lot is made of Celtic’s signings from the J-League but if Johnston is anything to go by he could be joined by a Canadian or two during the summer transfer window.
He’s a guy you would not mess with.
I love it.
Ask some of the Sevco players.
Plays with a smile.
Quiet Assassin mark 2
‘HAY’ – That’s a really good assessment !!!!
