Bevis Mugabi has hit out at the evidence produced to justify Todd Cantwell’s goal at Motherwell yesterday.

Fashion Sakala certainly looked to be in an offside position when the ball was played to him on the left wing but after a VAR check by Andrew Dallas the goal stood.

Soon afterwards Sky Sports broadcast the evidence for that decision with most viewers drawn to the wonky lines that done nothing to clear up the impression that Sakala was offside and that the goal should have been disallowed.

Mugabi had equalised for Motherwell a few minutes earlier, speaking to the Daily Record the defender voiced the frustrations of the home dressing room:

It’s been a bit questionable. A lot of people have noticed the lines look a bit suspect but that is out of our control, we can’t control what VAR does.

All we can do is focus on ourselves and make sure we do what we are supposed to do during the game.

It is just a shame we couldn’t hold on for a bit longer than we did after the goal [to make it 2-2] and the sending off didn’t help us either.

Dallas stepped down from refereeing last season, yesterday Nick Walsh was refereeing the Ibrox Tribute Act for the eight time this season, tomorrow he will be on the day job working on the fitness of Murray Park starlets at Boclair Academy.

Editor: O** F*** not for all of us. Which Glasgow club has had seven SPFL penalties awarded against them and which Glasgow club hasn’t had a penalty awarded against them in the SPFL since January 2022?
