The Daily Record is running with a claim that Alfredo Morelos has agreed but not signed a pre-contract deal to join Sevilla.

The Spanish side are having a difficult season, they are sitting in joint third bottom position with 25 points from 24 matches but it hasn’t yet reached the point of seeing the chunky Colombian as a solution to their problems.

Sevilla featured heavily in Morelos transfer bingo last summer but as ever nothing of substance emerged.

Yesterday the highly unreliable website Ibrox Noise claimed that an agreement had been reached between the player and the La Liga strugglers. It seems that some Spanish sites have picked up on that with the Record happy to play along:

Alfredo Morelos has reportedly signed a pre-contract to leave Rangers for Sevilla – and Kenny Miller reckons it’d be a fine move.

The striker has been replaced in the starting XI this week by a resurgent Antonio Colak with his Ibrox terms expiring this summer. Rumours have constantly followed Morelos since his arrival in Scotland and reports from Spain claim that he ‘has a pre-contract’ in La Liga with Sevilla.

He is one option the Spanish side are looking at for the next transfer window it is claimed, and former teammate Miller addressed the rumour on Superscoreboard. He senses it would be a fantastic deal for Morelos and that whatever happens, the Colombian’s time in Scotland is likely coming to an end.

He said: “There have been rumours since the January of his first year at Rangers. Any time a summer or January rolls around, he has been linked with a move that hasn’t happened.”

Most of the rumours have originated from Colombian radio stations and eagerly repeated by the Daily Record, the most recent coming in January with Inter Milan pulled out of Morelos Bingo.

A return to Colombia or a move to Mexico is much more likely in the summer for the former HJK Helsinki starlet.
