If he can’t win the SPFL title this season Micky Beale has promised his squad the 23 Match Trophy!

The gobby geezer rocked back into Ibrox in November with Celtic nine points ahead in the race for the title after 15 matches.

Four months later the gap remains at nine points with the hoops stretching their goal difference advantage to 27 with just nine matches left to play.

Beale had his chance to cut the gap down to six points on January 2 but despite Ange Postecoglou’s side having several players less than 100% fit against an on form duo in John Beaton and Willie Collum the Ibrox side were only able to manage a draw.

Since ditching QPR after just 22 matches in charge Beale has been sharing what he finks about everyfingk but Goldson has given an insight into what he blabs about behind closed doors:

8 minutes 12 seconds

To be fair one of the main things that the manager said, which still sticks with me. When he came in, one of his first meetings he said that if we don’t win the league this season then we are going to win the league from now.

And that is all that we can do and to be fair we’ve done that on the run that we’ve been on since he’s been here. And to be fair to them we re still nine points behind so there’s nothing really much more you can do.

We just concentrate on us, win games of football, if it does happen, if it doesn’t happen this season we know that it was our fault from the start of the season, if it doesn’t we still have to make sure that we try and win the league from when the manager came in to put us on the right stepping stone for next season

Next Saturday Beale gets another chance to impress against the side that humiliated him in the final of the Viaplay Cup at Hampden.

  • Joseph McCormack says:

If Beale ends up with no trophy at Ibrox this season then the pressure from the fan base, and the media, will ramp up to levels which will quickly see him given his marching orders.

His replacement will find himself watching his better players moving on and cheaper options filling the jerseys, hardly a platform to keep the fans happy and close the gap on The Champions.?
