There was no safe haven on social media for Micky Beale and his flops following the 2-0 defeat at Aberdeen.
All the comforting sound-bites from the rookie boss and promises of jam tomorrow are lapped up until reality makes an unwelcome visit on the park.
Fan media has been spinning away for Beale but now with the critical Season Ticket renewal campaign underway they can’t hide from the reality out on the pitch.
Only two of yesterday’s starters are out of contract in the summer, Beale’s side included the Golden Trio of Cantwell, Raskin and Tillman.
Not only were they not good enough for the side that lost to Darvel in the Scottish Cup but they had no appetite for the battle. That is a particular issue for bears brought up on the mythical traditions of clubs that have been solid second in every decade except one in the last 60 years.
The delusions of these apparent standards are in danger of drowning those involved in the Tribute Act, which is a wee shame.
Well, that was chronic. Our forwards couldn’t finish a leaflet and our defence make it seven conceded in three games despite hardly facing any attacks. Lack of subs puzzling too.
Sad truth is they wanted it more. Summer can’t come quick enough. Squad needs gutted.

Fecking honking watch. It will require a major overhaul to be competitive next season.
