Martin O’Neill had had his say on the post-split SPFL fixtures that sees Celtic travel to Tynecastle and Ibrox for their first two matches as they look for the three points needed to clinch the title.

Not only will Celtic be going to the club’s that finished last season third and second but at one ground they will have 1,400 fans while there will be no hoops fans inside Ibrox on Matchday 35.

O’Neill spent five seasons at Celtic handling a number of issues including the controversial split, the Irishman rarely gave a straight answer to a question and enjoyed wondering off at a tangent.

Retaining that ability to put together two or more issues he told The Sun:

Celtic start off after the break with two away games, hmm, do you feel as if there is a conspiracy theory there?

I left paranoia behind some time ago, it must be starting again! It was good to see from a Celtic viewpoint that Rangers are now taking it on after that disallowed goal.

It’s really great, something I never would have thought would happen. It is what it is, if you are going to win a league I don’t think it matters what week it happens to be.

After those two away matches Celtic are at home to St Mirren but it would be a major surprise if they weren’t returning home with the title already secured.

On Sunday a win in the final of the Scottish Cup would take the club to the brink of their fifth treble in seven years, when O’Neill’s side did a clean sweep in 2001 it was the club’s first treble in 32 years.
