Ange Postecoglou has fired back at rival managers trying to distract from Celtic’s successes.

At the turn of the year Micky Beale claimed that the Celtic boss was lucky while Lee Johnston of Hibs claimed that it is easy to deliver results when you have a far bigger budget than your competitors.

With the bigger budget comes more responsibility and expectations, despite that Postecoglou has delivered 27 wins and one draw from 29 SPFL matches while picking up the Viaplay Cup at Hampden in February.

The Celtic boss doesn’t get overly bothered by outside noise but when those comments are relayed to him by the media he stands his ground and fires back with some home truths.

Picking up on the latest criticism, The Sun reports Postecoglou saying:

Every manager is allowed to use their platform in any way they want and say what they want. I don’t think it’s accidental that the words “lucky” and “easy” are used. They aren’t words that I would use to describe any manager.

If you are in this job, irrespective of anything, the one thing you know is it’s not easy. If people think I come in here at midday, spend a couple of hours, have a cappuccino and then go home to the family, they are kidding themselves on.

I think they know that. The use of those words is probably deliberate. That’s fine. If that is what people believe, they are allowed to do that. What I know is that within this building, nothing comes easy for us.

We need to work hard, and there are a lot of expectations on the players and the staff every day.

That’s what we do and whether that impresses others or doesn’t, the only thing we care about is our supporters — and they are pretty happy with how we are going.

It’s pretty much known that we are playing under huge pressure every week. If other people think that’s easy in some way, that’s their opinion.

The opinion that matters is the SPFL table which shows that Postecoglou is nine points clear of Beale’s team and 42 ahead of Hibs with more than double the points total of the Edinburgh club.

Ange is brilliant. So good at putting petty managers and poor journalists in their place. He does it like a gentleman but I bet deep down he’s laughing at their embarrasing questions

They might have a point ,he’s managing a side started by and for Irish immigrants that has a 4 leaf clover as its crest.

Just like every other Club in Scotland Celtic started with nothing.
Unlike most other Clubs in Scotland Celtic Supporters arrived with less than nothing.
A Hibernian Manager should know how hard Celtic have had to work to be in the position we find ourselves now as Clubs.
After all it was the then Hibs Chairman John McFadden who gave Brother Walfrid the idea of a Glasgow Hibernian.
Luck is a factor in Football but Celtic have had to create our own luck in order to become what we are today.
Ask any Celtic fan today what Manager they would want at the helm today from our League there won’t be many if any who wouldn’t say Ange Postecoglou.
That has nothing to do with luck but everything to do with the ability, levels and standards he sets at our Club.
