The knives are certainly being sharpened by Ibrox fans for John Lundstram.

A year ago the Scary Scouser was tearing Europe apart but in an unwelcome return to reality he is being compared to turning like a cruise ship with a touch that is torture to watch.

If you are toiling at home to Dundee United it is going to take quite a transformation to out-stare the Celtic midfield into submission in Saturday’s Derby clash.

Lundstram has started the two Derby matches under Micky Beale but with Todd Cantwell and Malik Tillman in Balon d’Or form in recent weeks there are doubts over whether the former Sheffield United ace will be in Saturday’s Starting XI.

There is also one almost forgotten midfield star at Ibrox- Ianis Hagi. The son of a good player failed to make Saturday’s matchday squad with Scott Wright and Scot Arfield used in the second half with even Rabbi Matondo now ahead of the Romanian play-maker.

It seems that Beale is overloaded with mediocrity for Saturday’s match with big John no longer doing it for the loyal bears.
