Saturday could hardly have gone any better for Jota but there was a surprise twist to Sunday, the day after.
Catching up with Ellie Dixon and Big Bemz put a bit of extra pressure on the Superstar from Portugal but he didn’t disappoint with a brilliant goal past Allan McGregor to put Celtic 3-1 in front.
Celtic’s Instagram account quickly compared that goal with the 2001 classic at Ibrox when Henrik Larsson jinked past Stefan Klos to score from an equally tight angle to take his total for the season to 50.
That clip got a like on Instagram from The Henrik Larsson as he looked on from afar at his successors dominate the Glasgow Derby.
The SPL title had already been clinched by the time Larsson popped in his goal at Ibrox, a few weeks later the Swede was scoring twice in the Scottish Cup Final against Hibs as Celtic clinched the treble.
That was just the third treble in Celtic’s history, if Jota and his team-mates can get the better of their city rivals in the Scottish Cup semi-final later this month they’ll be perfectly placed to make it a fifth treble in seven years.
