John Lundstram appears to be taking a more realistic approach to playing Celtic.

In recent interviews the former Sheffield United midfielder has been insisting that there isn’t much of a gap between the two teams.

With three wins and a draw from four Derby matches Celtic have picked up the Viaplay Cup while last week’s SPFL win put the hoops 12 points clear at the top of the Premiership.

The two clubs meet again in a fortnight for a place in the final of the Scottish Cup with Lundstram striking a different tone in an interview with The Sun:

We all want to win in the Old Firm, of course we do. That’s our biggest rival – to get a win against them would be great.

I thought we were a lot better in the last Old Firm than we were in the one before. So hopefully we can get that big statement performance that can really give us confidence then to go on.

Lundstram was on the bench for last week’s match but replaced the injured Ryan Jack for today’s 5-2 win over St Mirren.

Next weekend Beale takes his squad to Aberdeen but it seems that their focus is already on Celtic.

The hoops take on Kilmarnock and Motherwell before Lundstram’s side are back in action, giving Ange Postecoglou’s side the chance to open up a 15 point lead.

Can sombody explain to Lundstram & his cohorts that there is no longer any such thing as ” THE OLD FIRM”

Sadly I had to correct two fellow Celtic fans in the pub last week for using that defunct term with the second word firm…

I also challenged another Hoops fan for being in possession of The Scottish Sun…

Unfortunately we also have illiterate folks in our support who still use that term and still fund these papers that are full of hate for and enemies of our beloved Celtic…

Still hopefully by education they will eventually see the light and come on board with the majority of Hoops fans !
