The last time that Celtic dropped points in the SPFL there were scenes of joy as Kyogo Furuhashi scored a late equaliser to maintain the nine point gap at the top of the SPFL Premiership table.

More than four months later that run of victories came to a halt with a 1-1 home draw against Motherwell with Celtic’s top scorer doing everything except find the net.

A 13 point lead that may be reduced to 10 ahead of the last five fixtures is a great position to be in but there is one match in another competition that Celtic now have in their focus.

Kyogo has scored five of the seven goals that Celtic have netted in the Glasgow Derby this year, next Sunday he has a chance to extend that run and book a place in the final of the Scottish Cup.

There was nothing major missing from his game other than the obvious, he made the same runs, found the same positions but found himself out of luck with a couple of chances.

With 29 goals to his name find number 30 at Hampden next Sunday could be another priceless contribution from Kyogo to a memorable season.

Celtic have been a bit wasteful for weeks and it’s quite worrying. I don’t know if complacency is creeping in or if there’s not quite the strength in depth to the team that many of us have believed. We have really missed Jota and Hatate, not to mention the lively Abada to shake things up. Lots of huffing and puffing today but no fluency in the final third.

As for “the Steelmen”, they need to be renamed “the Stealmen”. They did nothing to earn a draw. Teams like this disgrace football, especially when the players roll around the ground playacting to waste time. That’s not what football is supposed to be about. Apart from two teams, the SPL really is a Third World league.

You are so right Martin,it is depressing, Motherwell today made a game of it only by sitting back ,78 to 22 possession, they didn’t even try to play football, that’s why SPFL is looked down upon,in saying that we still should have had the players and tactics to beat them.

Lol can’t wait for Voice of an Arsehole or Johnnybag Green to come on and criticise the ref,go on bring it on.

I don’t think anyone in the attack came out of the game yesterday with any positives apart that is from young Vata.
Both Kyogo and Oh missed two glaring chances when they dropped but in the young Koreans defence he’s come off the bench and missed where as Kyogo has started the game and therefore already fully tuned into it.
Neither Maeda No Haksabanovic had good games.
I thought Motherwell defended our strengths well and in particularly those front post crosses.
I’ve said all Season that we should be in the market for a proven European level finisher and perhaps a striker who brings something a bit different.
I think a genuine penalty box striker/poacher is required for games like yesterday.
A Hooper type if you like.
