Lowland League clubs have voted to allow B teams to compete in their 23/24 competition.

Celtic and two other Premiership clubs will again be involved with the hoops playing at this level for the third season running.

Talks are on-going about creating a Conference tier between the SPFL and the Lowland League and Highland League as the SFA attempt to build a pyramid system that includes B teams.

The Conference would include four B teams plus the top three from the Lowland and Highland Leagues, as things stand that would involve University of Stirling, Tranent Juniors and East Kilbride.

Any benefits from playing in the Lowland League have still to be established although Rocco Vata and Ben Summers were used as substitutes at Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou will have to decide on next season’s plan for both players relating to whether they will be in the first team squad, sent out on loan or given a third season in the Lowland League.

The Spartans have won this season’s Lowland League, they will play the winners of the Highland League with the winners of that clash facing the bottom side in League Two for a place in next season’s SPFL.
