Burnley have apparently made a move to sign Ryan Kent- alongwith Aberdeen forward Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes.

Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail provides the update which is short on detail, where an attacking luxury player like Kent would fit in to a team newly promoted to the EPL is hard to imagine.

Kent moved to Ibrox for a reported fee of £7m in the summer of 2019 after a season on loan.

The terms of that contract are likely to be way short of what Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram, Tom Lawrence and Rabbi Matondo are picking up with Kent playing far more regular than any of those signings.

McGowan reports:

BURNLEY have made their move to land Rangers winger Ryan Kent this summer.

The 26-year-old is in the final weeks of his current contract, with no sign of renewing.

Free to talk to potential clubs, newly-promoted Burnley have declared their interest – and have also scouted Aberdeen striker Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes.

Kent missed the weekend 5-2 win over St Mirren with an injury and now looks to be entering the final weeks of his Ibrox career.

A Rangers player since 2018, the former Liverpool star joined on loan before penning a permanent £7million deal.

Persistently linked with Leeds, Kent has scored 40 goals in 140 appearances for the club.

With striker Alfredo Morelos also expected to leave, Ibrox boss Michael Beale is in the market for a raft of new players this summer.

13 of Kent’s goal came during the 20/21 behind-closed-doors campaign when a number of Ibrox stars turned in career best performances.

This season he has scored three times in 41 matches, about par for the course over four seasons playing in front of fans. Many who don’t fully appreciate Step Over stats.

    Linked with Leeds by WHO.
Leeds seen him and were not interested.
Burnley are only interested in him on a free, no team wanted to pay a transfer for him or Morelos, who has been linked with teams around the globe by his agent.
Anyway mega rich The Rangers will soon have a team of replacements to compete against the best in Europe, I’m just not sure if European teams are aware that they have to let The Rangers win or a letter will be sent to the governing body.
