The Gullible & Deluded are being squeezed once again with Coronation Coins on offer to the patriotic bear.
By dropping into one of three pubs within five miles of Celtic Park a completely worthless coin can be purchased for £6.99, considerably more than Sir Craig Whyte paid for a distressed football club in May 2011.
Fortunately for fans buying the coin it is unlikely to go into administration or liquidation within 18 months of purchase.
Apparently 300 of the coins have been knocked out bringing in just over £2,000 for the brains behind the venture, after VAT and other deductions they should have enough left over to buy a Season Ticket and the first three or four Castore Kits of next season.
The Coronation Coins aren’t legal currency, not even in the pubs that they are bought from, but should provide a timeless memento of abject stupidity for future generations to laugh at.

But I don’t think it does quite contravene the Forgery & Counterfeiting Act, it needs to be intended to pass off as genuine for that and the big ‘Gers TV’ logo makes that unlikely, although Chuck’s napper on the back does make it a bit more forgery-like, though the writing around his heid isn’t standard issue coin script either!! I suspect a coin or medal maker had to strike them and they’d know where the line is and how to stay on the right side of it….. unless of course they imported them from Taiwan! And what could be more quintessentially British than that?!!
