Rough luck- three games in and Beale can’t come to terms with his Celtic failings

After three failed attempts at beating Celtic Micky Beale is still blaming rough luck for his Glasgow Derby record.

Over three matches at three different grounds Celtic have strengthened their lead in the SPFL Premiership and claimed the Viaplay Cup.

During an individual match luck may be against a team but it is hard to make a case for rough luck over 270 minutes.

Beale has beaten every other side in the SPFL Premiership at least once but after five months in the job he has still to win the fixture that his supporters crave more than any other.

Listening to Beale on TalkSPORT this morning the Daily Record reports the Ibrox boss saying:

These games are always massive and a privilege to be involved in. We’ve had rough luck a little bit in the games so far. The one at Ibrox when I first came in we should have held on in that game.

We know they’re a good side and dangerous but in terms of the games so far we’ve had opportunities in all three of them and certainly have to be at our best next week and it’s a huge game and huge opportunity.

Celtic are in excellent form at this moment in time and we’ve tried to chase them as much as we can.

Since I arrived in November our league form has been extremely strong and I’ve been pleased with the boys and having been at the club for a long time over the last five years, the form we’re in now hasn’t always been normal.

We have found it difficult at times going to away grounds so at the moment the boys are doing well.

Beale has Aberdeen to deal with on Sunday, the Dons might feel that they have had rough luck in losing two stoppage time goals to Beale’s side in December then losing in extra-time with 10 men in the semi-final of the Viaplay Cup.

Ange Postecoglou is unlikely to be putting in an appearance on a London based radio station or to be speculating on anything other than Celtic’s next match.
