Should Celtic write to the SFA for explanation over Barisic’s attack on Celtic star?

It was one of many puzzling, well not really, more highly predictable decisions given by Kevin Clancy during the second half of Saturday’s Glasgow Derby.

Whenever there was any contact in the Celtic half the whistle went with James Tavernier or Borna Barisic preparing to launch one.

There were no injury stoppages in the second half but Clancy found five minutes of stoppage time which he extended by another 60 seconds.

In the 80th minute John Souttar pushed Oh Hyeon-gyu over in the penalty box, Clancy saw nothing as another offensive on the Celtic defence was launched.

After being repeatedly caught cold by Celtic’s quickly taken free-kicks, throw-ins and bye-kicks in September Micky Beale’s side seemed to be under orders to spoil and play for time at every opportunity. Even their own restarts.

Borna Barisic took that a few steps too far when his side won a bye-kick in the 85th minute.

As Sead Haksabanovic got up off the ground he was grabbed round the next by the Ibrox defender to prevent him from quickly getting back into place to prepare for the resumption.

Gormless Clancy trotted over having watched the incident in full, copped out with a quiet word and almost a smile- in marked contrast to the early yellow card for Cameron Carter-Vickers as Alfredo Morelos went squealing.

Moreloss went down in agony holding his lower leg, but managed a head-up recce to see if the Ref had bought it. And Barisic and Jack again have their hands all over the Celtic players. Like a couple of old perverts at a teen disco.
