Ange Postecoglou has paid tribute to the unity of character in his squad.

The hoops boss was reflecting on Saturday’s victory in the Glasgow Derby which was far from a classic performance with a number of players struggling to find their regular form.

Despite that, Postecoglou’s side managed to maximise their chances with Kyogo and Jota showing that given a half chance they know how to find the net.

That victory means that Celtic need 10 points to secure the title, with a goal difference cushion of 29 three more wins should do it but just getting over the line has never been part of the manager’s mantra.

With 29 wins and one draw from 31 matches there are a few records for the hoops to chase over the remaining seven matches, starting at Kilmarnock on Sunday where three points should see Celtic notch up their 100th SPFL goal of the season.

We understood this was a big game. Apart from being a derby, from a league perspective and the ability to put further distance between us and second spot was always going to be a great challenge.

Being at home to Rangers, you always want to send our punters home happy. There was a good edge to the game, it had a bit of everything. I said after the game the lads showed great character to get the job done.

We went through our normal review this morning. We review the performance, the outcome everyone knows and that’s important, players get immediate feedback on that. In terms of performance, we analyse the game, gave feedback to the players and move on to look ahead. Overall there are definitely areas we can play better in.

As I’ve said quite often, the ability of this team to find a way through whatever the challenge may be is outstanding. The reason we are where we are at this point is because of that great unity of character they have

Due to the surface at Kilmarnock it is unlikely that Reo Hatate or Liel Abada will return to the squad from injury.

Unbelievable. Are there no minimum standards specified for the grounds/pitch before it’s certified fit to play on?
I believe that in Australia, it is the responsibility of the stadium to meet the minimum standards and should a player or official incur a serious injury due to a failure in meeting the minimum specifications, the owner of the pitch may face a negligence charge and even be sued for damages by the injured party.
