Alastair Johnston was as comfortable giving a Thank You speech in the Number 7 lounge as he was out on the pitch helping Celtic to victory in the Glasgow Derby.

The Canadian has stepped straight into the Celtic side in mid-season with absolutely no allowances required, no settling in period and certainly not adjusting to the pace of Scottish football.

Johnston has only made 15 appearances for Celtic but with three of them in the Glasgow Derby he has come out on top of his individual battle every time with the hoops winning two and drawing the other at Ibrox.

After a quick swig of something that didn’t look like a sports supplement Johnston thanked the fans and gave them a flavour of what had been involved in the victory that takes Celtic to the brink of winning another SPFL title.

Celtic have struck it lucky in recent times at right-back with Mikael Lustig, Jeremie Frimpong and Josip Juranovic with Johnston looking every bit as good as any of his predecessors.

So “players” are not safe.game held up because glass on the pitch.members of the playing staff scarred for life after being struck with a bottle.fans targeted with missiles.weapons found by police that were to be used against opposition fans .a referee and his family have had their lives threatened. The board of “the rangers” are on record admitting that they could not guarantee the safety of two commentators….. will it take a death before the SFA/SPFL, police Scotland, Glasgow council, the Scottish government, step in and punish “the rangers” with something meaningful

Simple solution, win the semi-final, wrap up the title before the fixture comes around and forfeit it. Let them have the 3 points but hit them hard in the pocket.

Love Johnston’s attitude he is brilliant, doesn’t give a shit about ” them” this guy is IMO much better than juranovic, who was himself a good player for us but I think the Canadian has much more dig and bite about him as well as more overall skill.
