The Green Brigade set the scene for yesterday’s Glasgow Derby with a spectacular pre-match Pyro display.
The front corner of Celtic Park, between the North Stand and Lisbon Lions stand was a splash of colour and noise to inspire Callum McGregor and his squad onto victory over their city rivals.
Over 90 plus minutes Celtic delivered the win that takes them to within touching distance of a second SPFL title success under Ange Postecoglou but it was far from a vintage performance.
Had the match been played in the freaky conditions of the 20/21 season there could have been a different outcome, the constant urging of the fans produced something extra to drive on the home players.
Despite a number of players being well short of their best the backing of the fans never let up as they urged their favourites on to a significant win that puts the hoops 12 points clear with nine matches left to play.
With three home matches left to be played there promises to be a few more lively fixtures for 60,000 to enjoy although sunshine won’t be guaranteed.
