Kevin Clancy found himself in a few headlines following Saturday’s Glasgow Derby.

After Ally McCoist, Kris Boyd and Andy Walker had expressed their outrage about an effort from Alfredo Morelos being disallowed for pushing by the match referee the official version came out.

James Tavernier and Micky Beale highlighted that decision and also called out a handball from Jota leading to the second goal which was clearly fiction as TV replays demonstrated.

Later on Saturday night Sky Sports reported that a request would be going into the SFA for an explanation of the disallowed ‘goal’ but it seems that there has been virtually no spotlight on a penalty claim for Celtic.

With the Ibrox side pushing for an equaliser space was opening up at the back, Alexandro Bernabei seemed to lose his bearings as he ran through on goal but in the 80th minute it looks like Oh Hyeon-gyu was pushed to the ground as he turned right to prepare a shot at goal.

There has been no comment from anyone at Celtic about Saturday’s refereeing issues. It was Kevin Clancy’s fourth time in charge of the Glasgow Derby, and Celtic’s first win.

A triple of Fanny’s – you forgot Walker! Where was he?

Said to my son at the time it was a penalty. Don’t necessarily blame Clancy for that, but I couldn’t believe it wasn’t reviewed and was just ignored by VAR. But they don’t get penalties against them do they? Sounds trivial I know, but how many times as well did obvious Celtic corners get given as goal kicks? With an ageing Flapper McGregor in goals, we had a good chance of getting some more goals from them. Same with throw ins, free kicks, bookings etc. No consistency and some baffling decisions. Still, we got the win and that’s surely the title and CL group stages in the bag now.

I think he’s went down a bit too easy there and the defender goes for the ball.
Morelos does that wee shove most weeks and gets away with it ,AJ is clearly going to get to the ball ahead of him and the wee shove makes him miss the flight of the ball altogether so without the shove it’s a clearing header for me.
I don’t think Clancy got too much wrong in the game.
