Ange Postecoglou has completed a clean sweep of the Manager of the Year Awards.

The first honour for the Celtic boss was from PFA Scotland, in midweek he got the Manager of the Year Award from the SPFL with the Football Writers coming to the same conclusion.

This morning the SFWA announced:

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has been crowned William Hill SFWA Manager of the Year for season 2022/23.

The Celtic boss was the front-runner in a four-man shortlist that also included Premiership counterparts Barry Robson and Stephen Robinson, of Aberdeen and St Mirren respectively, and Dunfermline gaffer James McPake.

Postecoglou retains the prize that he won during his first campaign at Parkhead after leading Celtic to within 90 minutes of the domestic Treble.

Postecoglou arrived at Celtic 23 months ago, inheriting a shell of a squad handed over by Peter Lawwell.

With Liel Abada the only signing available the hoops drew twice before losing out in extra-time to Midtjylland in a Champions League qualifier.

Taking 10 points from his first seven SPFL matches suggested a difficult first season but 6-0 home wins over Dundee and St Mirren plus the return of a full stadium gave fans hope that things were improving.

Postecoglou delivered two out of three trophies in his first season, next Saturday at Hampden he’ll be looking for the one that got away when Celtic take on Inverness Caley Thistle in the final of the Scottish Cup.
