We Never Stop has multiple meanings.

From Day 1 at Lennoxtown it has been the message from Ange Postecoglou, on Sunday at Hampden Daizen Maeda and Jota demonstrated how it delivers results.

In five weeks time it looks very very likely that the Celtic boss will have added a treble to last season’s double.

There is much more for Postecoglou to achieve, principally in Europe, incredibly Celtic haven’t won a knock out tie in 19 years, the first season under CEO Peter Lawwell.

In two attempts in Europe Postecoglou has shown promise without getting results, supporters have bought in and see the progress on previous efforts under a variety of managers.

Progress in Europe will require new signings, upgrades and a decent transfer budget to deliver.

Hampden was a very satisfying experience for all at Celtic but a very ambitious manager gently reminded his bosses that there is much more work to be done.

The Herald reports Postecoglou saying:

We try to come out of every window stronger than when we went into it. I think we have done that from the first window I had, to last January, to last summer, to this January.

Every window you can see we are making strides forward. We will do the same in the next window to make sure we come out of it stronger than we were when we went in.

To me, that is the only way you can measure what you are doing, by progress. Are we a better side than we were last year? Absolutely. But we need to be a better side in 12 months’ time if we want to be in this kind of position to challenge for honours.

If we stay where we are right now there is every chance that someone might overtake us. We constantly have to be looking to improve. And to do that you can’t settle where you are.

As ever Postecoglou gets a subtle message over while discussing his views. The ball is with Michael Nicholson to continue supporting the manager that is wholly responsible for the on and off the pitch success that Celtic are currently enjoying.
