During the early months of 2012 BBC Scotland had an endless supply of business experts discussing the financial issues at Rangers- almost all explained that liquidation was the worst possibility.
However led by Neil Patey the viewers and listeners were reassured that there would be a happy ending, a Sugar Daddy would emerge with trophies piling up at Ibrox after Sir Dave had been duped by a wrong ‘un from Motherwell.
276 creditors have a different story to tell. In June 2012 Her Majesty rejected the offer of a CVA with the club formed in 1872 or 1873 consigned to liquidation with BDO charged with salvaging what they could from the ashes.
Today the state broadcaster is lending credibility to the fantasies of James Bisgrove that a club with less honours than St Johnstone has some sort of claim to being the dominant force in Scottish football.
??’Over the 150 years of the club, over the history of Scottish football, Rangers have been the dominant team’.

Brian McLaughlin of BBC Scotland was first to get a Dominant Force claim from Bisgrove but chose not to challenge the in-coming Ibrox CEO about when that period actually was.
Hearts are the first love of McLaughlin, back in 2013 The Hearts Foundation refused to let their club die, agreed a CVA that Anne Budge took on board with fans repaying it over the years, building the momentum for the current financial health of Hearts with a timeline stretching back to 1876.
McLaughlin’s follow up question was to ask about outside investment, back at BBC HQ MacIntyre, English, Lamont and the rest were avoiding the story with the same determination that James Traynor used when defending Sur Dave against rumours of administration coming from Chick Young of all People.
Dominant force? More like dominant farce.
Once a Hearts fan … Always a the Rangers fan !
