Aaron Mooy will miss Celtic’s match against Hibs on Wednesday night with time starting to drift away from the midfielder ahead of the Scottish Cup Final.

The Australian internationalist came off the bench for the last 20 minutes of Celtic’s SPFL title clincher away to Hearts on May 7 but has missed the last two matches.

Unless he is involved in Saturday’s match at home to Aberdeen it is unlikely that Mooy will be involved in the squad for the Scottish Cup Final on June 3.

Asked about his squad for the game against Hibs Postecoglou (7 minutes) said:

No, everyone else is good; the ones who missed out last week. Obviously Cameron is out and Aaron is still struggling a little bit with a bit of a niggle so he’ll miss tomorrow.

Mooy was in outstanding form on the back of the World Cup Finals in Qatar but has been in and out of the side since picking up a knock in mid-March.

If he isn’t available for the match against Inverness Caley Thistle it would put David Turnbull and Tomoki Iwata closer to a place although the midfield trio of Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley looks fairly certain of being Hampden starters.

Alistair Johnston was back in full training today and looks likely to be in the squad to play Aberdeen on Saturday.
