Micky Beale’s plan to bring Jose Cifuentes to Ibrox looks like being put on hold.

The Los Angeles midfielder is under contract until December and is required for his club’s CONCACAF Champions League ties against Leon on June 4.

Beale is keen to get his transfer business completed early in the transfer window but with a fee required any move for Cifuentes looks like being put back a few weeks.

The Daily Record reports:

One player who could be set to make the move is Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes who is understood to be in talks over a move to Glasgow – after the midfielder began responding to fans on social media while his agent also shared that he was given a VIP tour of Ibrox. Despite Beale distancing himself fro the move, a switch for the Ecuador international looks still to be on the cards as part of the massive overhaul that will be ushered into Ibrox this summer.

However, the potential deal could be put on hold with reports in America suggesting that the Major League Soccer side are keen to keep the 24-year-old at the club until they have competed in the CONCACAF Champions League final against Mexican side Leon. The second leg of that clash takes place on June 4 and could cut into some of Beale’s pre-season plans should a delay on any arrivals occur.

With the MLS season starting in February Cifuentes will require some sort of break with the SPFL season starting in August with no break until January.

On Friday Ryan Jack signed a new contract which sees Beale overloaded in midfield with John Lundstram, Glen Kamara, Todd Cantwell, Nico Raskin and Ianis Hagi all in place alongside starlet Alex Lowry.

If Cifuentes signs it looks highly unlikely that Malik Tillman will be back to play a part in next season’s Revolution.
