Jobe Bellingham is close to completing a £3m transfer to Sunderland despite reported interest from Ibrox.
With Micky Beale’s intensive knowledge of the English Championship the Birmingham midfielder was strongly linked with a move to Ibrox but a transfer fee probably put paid to the deal.
Despite the pressure of comparisons with his brother Jude the 17-year-old started five matches in the Championship and came off the bench 17 times.
Beale is expected to sign Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling from the Championship but it seems like the fee for Bellingham ruled out a move to Ibrox.

Born in 2005, Jude’s brother says yes to club project as best step — deal has been agreed on £3m fee to Birmingham City.
