The Sports Desk at BBC Scotland are in full scale denial as they prepare to deflect away from Celtic’s Presentation Day on Saturday.
There is no shortage of good new stories around in the old fashioned world of newspapers with the state broadcaster turning to the not so reliable Daily Record for today’s top helping.
Jose Cifuentes certainly sounds like a footballer, having been linked with Celtic in 2019 another essential element of the story is already in place with rejecting a last minute offer from X/Y/Z of the EPL to join the Beale Revolution.
It seems that the only steps still to be completed in the deal is to agree on personal terms then a transfer fee for the player who is under contract until the end of December- ie the two essential parts of any transfer.
With negotiations being played out in public it is clear that Beale’s transfer dealings are part of a summer of feel-good stories.
Los Angeles FC hold all the cards, the player can agree whatever terms he likes but unless his club are given an appropriate transfer fee BBC Scotland will just need to wait before they reveal how the Ecuador ace snubbed Celtic and Manchester City to fight for a place in the Beale Revolution.
