David Munro will referee Celtic’s home match against St Mirren.

Back in November Munro was involved in one of the most controversial decisions of the season when he awarded Ross County a penalty after the ball struck Matt O’Riley’s arm after being fired at the midfielder from close range.

There was no need for VAR to get involved with the match referee adamant about the decision, David Cancola scored from the penalty spot with David Turnbull and Sead Haksabanovic responding to deliver a home win.

Saturday’s match will be Munro’s first Celtic appointment since that match in November, recently he was in charge of Dundee’s 5-3 title clincher against Queens Park and Kilmarnock’s home win against Livingston.

Saturday’s match is the first home game since Celtic clinched the SPFL title against Hearts at Tynecastle, Steven Kirkland is on VAR duty.
