Dujon Sterling has apparently signed up to the Micky Beale Revolution after rejecting an offer from Chelsea!

That claim has been made by Football Scotland, the digital arm of the Daily Record, to add some gloss to signing a 23-year-old free agent on the back of an uninspiring season with Stoke City in The Championship.

Had Chelsea any serious plans for Sterling he would have been signed up onto an extended contract before going out on loan last season, making 24 appearances for the club that finished in 16th place, nine points above relegated Reading.

Football Scotland reports:

Dujon Sterling has agreed his move to Rangers ahead of this summer after snubbing a new contract offer at Chelsea.

The full-back, 23, is on Michael Beale’s wanted list and Football Scotland understands the Ibrox manager has landed his man as he begins his transfer overhaul. Beale has admitted he plans to bring in a number of new faces at the end of the current campaign with a major revamp expected.

And Sterling is the first piece of the puzzle as the right-back gets set to join up with his new teammates as Gers hope to be more competitive in the Premiership next term and wrestle the title away from rivals Celtic.

Sterling was offered a new deal at Stamford Bridge following a successful loan spell at Stoke City with the Potters also keen on his signature after he played 28 times for the club.

But his decision, Football Scotland can reveal, has been made and he will play in Glasgow next season. It comes as the Light Blues also prepare to bring in former Norwich City ace Kieran Dowell.

Before going on loan to Stoke, Sterling had been on loan at Coventry, Wigan and Blackpool which seems an unlikely pathway to the Chelsea first team.
